wilmington. still chilly. the temperatures will take off with sunshine and a little bit of a breeze out of the southwest at 6 miles an hour. 7:00, middle 40s, 10:00, middle 50s. and then it's in the 60s this afternoon. i've got your neighborhood by neighborhood forecast when i'm back in ten minutes. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. >> and bill, we're watching the schuylkill expressway right now. we're still doing okay. this is how we like the schuylkill with not a lot of backup around spring garden street the westbound problems, there are none. twe minutes from the vine street to the blue route. 59 miles per hour the average speed there and you can see eastbound no problems there also. the p.a. turnpike not a lot of construction projects this morning. i guess because it's friday we're taking the day off. eastbound from route 1 to valley forge at the most 22 minutes. also watch out in new jersey on route 130, that's closed between porcupine road and center square road for construction that's going to go into march of 2016. so it's time to start planning

your trips in the morning accordingly. new from overnight, philadelphia police are looking for the gun men in two separate shootings in the city. it's a result of a violent night that ended with five people hurt in one hour. monique braxton is live in north philadelphia this morning. you've been following this all morning. what can you tell us? >> reporter: three of the people were brought here to temple university hospital by police, and right now one is listed in critical condition, he has had surgery. the other two are in stable condition. here's what else we know. just before midnight investigators were called to the 2800 block of north swanson. 15 shots were fired from two different semi-automatic handguns. witnesses tell police two men wearing masks approached, opened fire, then fled. >> 20-year-old male shot one time in his back, a 21-year-old

female shot in the leg and a 36-year-old male shot twice in his thigh. >> reporter: police say a car seen speeding from that scene was stopped. right now a female driver is being questioned by detectives. no motive is known but the area was part of a drug sweep back in april. police say at 11:30 last night gun shots rang out behind a house in the 5900 block of paul met too near van kirk when police arrived they found two victims one shot in the back, a second in the leg, both are men. one of them was located, though, six blocks away at his home in the 500 block of sanger street. both of those teens are in stable condition, one of them has since been transferred here to temple university hospital. the second is over at einstein medical center. i asked police did they know a motive for the shooting. and i was told no, and that neither person is cooperating.

we're going to stay on top of this investigation and have all developments for you as they become available. outside temple, monique braxton, "nbc 10 news." >> a coach at an exclusive school a subject of a police investigation. sources affiliated with springside chestnut hill academy tell nbc 10 that the school notified parents about an issue between a coach and students. the school is not saying who is coach is or what he or she has allegedly done. >> i can say that i'm aware of the fact that my client is being investigated for certain activity. >> the coach says -- the school says that the coach in question no longer works at the academy. >> and here's a look at some of the stories that we'll be following today. >> immigration protesters will be in city hall later this morning. to challenge mayor nutter's plans to revoke philadelphia's so called sanctuary city status.

they are against changes to the order that limits cooperation between philadelphia police and immigration and customs enforcement or otherwise known as ice. mayor nutter signed the order back in april of 2014 but he is now considering a change. later today the pakistan-american society of south jersey will host its own rally asking all muslims and non-muslims to join for the peaceful rally at 3:00 p.m. today. >> a philadelphia school reform commission will hold its second public hearing for new charter schools. public comment begins at 3:30 at the education center on north broad street but you do have to sign up if you want to speak so you got to get there early. the src will vote on the new charter schools in february. this morning there are new developments in the investigation into the massacre in san bernardino. coming up we'll explain why divers are searching a lake near the scene of the tragedy. plus, days after someone toss add severed pig's head at a

haddonfield, 39 to start with. some clouds overnight. they are starting to clear. you can see clearing skies in chester county, we'll be cleared for sunshine today and once the clouds are out of here, the sun is up after 7:00, we will see a quick warm-up. your neighborhood by neighborhood forecast, 59 degrees for the pocono mountains and fog will disappear as the temperatures climb. 61 for bethlehem, fleet food 62 degrees. fog will be in some areas to start with for new hope, abington, but it won't last. 60s at the shore, ventnor city 64. warmer for rehobeth. milford up to 66 degrees this afternoon. and partly sunny skies to start w mostly sunny afternoon. 65 would tie the record in philadelphia. malvern and wilmington in the lower 60s to middle 60s this afternoon. and it gets warmer this weekend. the updated seven-day forecast when i'm back in ten minutes. 5:38.

>> we're getting a glimpse at the defense strategy in the trial of a local police chief's daughter. >> she is accused of attacking two gay men last year a. lawyer for kathryn knott insisted his client never touched the victims. she faces years in prison if convicted. prosecutors say knott and her friends were out when they encountered the couple and started spewing slurs and throwing punches. >> this afternoon gop presidential candidate donald trump is speaking to a group of pennsylvania republicans in new york, also a new poll shows just more than half of americans polled oppose trump's proposal to ban muslims from entering the u.s. 57% oppose his proposal according to a new nbc news/"wall street journal" poll. that's compared to 25% who favor it. 75% of democrats are against the plan, but republicans, they are split, 42% support a muslim ban,

36% oppose it. trump spoke last night in new hampshire but made no reference to his muslim ban proposal. earlier in the day he canceled a planned trip to israel later this month, israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu has been urged to cancel the visit after the uproar over trump's comments. the recent terror attacks have some people targeting muslims and their mosques. >> there are some signs of hope for the muslim community. the islamic society in north philadelphia is you flooded with flowers, candy, cards and phone calls. police are ves grating a possible hate crime at the mosque from earlier in the week. surveillance video shows someone in a pickup truck throwing a pig's head at the building. the pig is seen as an insult since muslim diet laws forbid eating pork. >> filled with so much love for my neighbors. >> police are looking for whoever tossed the pig's head.

>> give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses. >> members gathered in support of muslims at this vigil. organizers of the vigil say people who practice islam are under siege in america. and it is time to take a stand. >> new information this morning in the investigation of the california terror attacks. divers are searching a lake in the san bernardino park three miles north of the shooting scene. the fbi has a lead that the two shooter who is killed 14 at a holiday party had been in this area. an fbi official would not say what they are looking for but the lake search could take days. >> president obama says he may take his own action on a gun measure after congress this week failed to pass a bill keeping people on the government's no fly list from buying firearms. the president would follow the lead of connecticut's governor.

governor malloy announced he will sign the first executive order to ban gun sales to people on the federal government no fly list. >> in trenton, a call to allow undocumented immigrants to get legally get driver's licenses. >> but not everyone is on board this proposal. those who want to legally drive would have to show proof of their identity, their date of birth, and residency. but burlington county sheriff says it's too easy to forge those documents and the proposal poses a security threat. >> we have no way of verifying the documents particularly if they are in a foreign language. >> this is a piece of legislation that would ensure that everybody who is on the road is properly tested, insured and registered which benefits everybody. >> 12 states have adopted similar legislation. >> many of you put up the christmas tree and decorations. if you haven't there is time and

you want to make sure you do it safely. matt delucia has some tips for you. >> reporter: 'tis the season for trees and lights. lots and lots of lights. >> it's a short season so it's busy early. >> reporter: they stocked up on 3,000 christmas trees to start the season. a better season so far. >> christmas trees are fuller than ever, beautifully shaped, nice and fresh. >> reporter: but that also means taking care of them, keeping them in water and disposing of them properly at the end of the holidays. when it comes to the decorating you could go with a 22-foot inflatable santa, or something flashy of another nature. but beware of a big decorating don't. >> a lot of people want to use the indoor extension cords outside. it's not safe. they don't have the thickness of the grade of wire in there, they

obviously none near. this is a view from center city. nice and clear for city. it's new jersey that has seen the thick test fog. light fog in the coatesville area. mount holly had visibility down to a quarter mile. it has improved and improving in millville. once the temperature starts to warm up we'll see fog disappear. clouds came through overnight. the radar completely dry. i'm not expecting wet weather to show up here for today, for tomorrow, for sunday. but monday is a different story. even though it's clear now for the entire region, head west, and you see california getting rain and snow in the mountains, that's the storm that's going to bring us some wet weather on monday. but for today, get the sunglasses ready and you need a jacket this morning. but by 1:00 this afternoon look at the 60s. 60 in allentown, reading, lancaster, 63. philadelphia, mount holly, millville at 60. that's at 1:00ment it will go warmer this afternoon. i expect 65 in philadelphia,

mostly sunny skies. definitely warmer than yesterday and it's a warming trend that will continue tomorrow. we'll tie the record today at 65. we'll break the record tomorrow, 67. 2 degrees above the record for the army/navy game and the eagles game, another record-breaker. 68 degrees, that's up by 3 over the old record set back in 1923 on sunday. rain on monday but still mild. the rain may hold off until later in the day allowing the temperatures to warm to 67 degrees. then sunshine, 60s for tuesday and wednesday. finally a little bit cooler but still mild with showers on thursday. thanks, bill. well, eventually you're going to be driving with the windows down. p in the meantime hopefully you're not in traffic. >> jessica boyington how does it look out there in south jersey a look at 42. >> we're looking at 42 first to start. but, i got a text message from one of my friends an early riser thanks, mike, just reported an

it's 5:54. a live look here at lincoln financial field. philadelphia is set to host the historic army/navy game for the 86th time this weekend. the two teams will do battle for the 116th time on saturday. tonight, more than 1200 alumni and sponsors will be on hand for the army/navy gala that starts at 7:00 at the philadelphia convention center. the annual event will include dinner, dancing and speeches from city leaders. this year's game is getting a lot of national attention for the second time this year espn college gameday will make a stop in philadelphia. gameday crew will host the pregame show tomorrow morning at 9:00 at xfinity live in south philly. this is the last stop of the college football season for gameday. they were here on halloween when temple took on notre dame at the linc. the eagles are getting set for a match-up sunday at the linc. the birds take on lasean mccoy
